Thousands have tried their luck to audition for Artista Academy but only 75 moved on to the next round and battled for the 1st time in their 1st live exam wherein only 16 scholars have chosen to compete for the title Best Actor and Actress of the said show. Every week, each student was eliminated one by one until top 6 of Honorlist were determined.

Last night was the show's finale, The Artista Academy Awards Night. That night, Top 6 students had showcased their talents in Singing, Dancing, and Acting (via short films) for the last time. Each scholar gave their best of their best shot to win because only 2 will be chosen.

Having said that, Sophie Albert became the first performer, then next is Vin Abrenica, followed by Chanel Morales, Mark Neumann, Shaira Mae and last performer was Akihiro Blanco.

Having said that, This Season's Best Actor and Best Actress were:

The Final Battle was held in two-part episodes. The first part was held last October 14, 2012 wherein the proteges were hand picked by the judges and gave them the challenges which they thought each protege haven't done yet all throughout the season. At the end of the 1st part of the final battle, the judges were asked to name 2 proteges (1 from girls and 1 from boys) whom they thought excelled the most. For the Girls, All Judges agreed that Elle Ramirez emerged as the best. For the boys, Majority of the judges thought Jeric Gonzales excelled, and a vote for Mikoy Morales.

On the 2nd part of the final battle which was held last night, the challenge given to the proteges was to act with kapuso stars on different kapuso soap and television series. Texters Choice Award was given to Jeric Gonzales for gaining the most number of text votes. At the end of the Final Battle, 2nd Season's Proteges were named.

Yes, it's Thea Tolentino for the Girls and Jeric Gonzales both from South Luzon, both were handled by Mentor Gina Alajar and lately after the protege-mentor swapping, Jeric Gonzales was chosen to be a part of Team Mentor Jolina.

Artista Academy: Final Exam (Highlights)

Final Exams' theme was "Major Impact" meaning the students must leave a major impact through a short film that will be done to showcase their acting skills individually with the same scenario plus accompanied with 2 most respected and multi-awarded artists; with the Girls is Mr. Tirso Cruz III and for the boys with Ms. Nora Aunor.

The Girls

The Short film was about a daughter named Denise who recently found out that her dad (Mr. Tirso Cruz III) is seeing another woman. There was a confrontation between the daughter and her Daddy but in the end, Denise found out that her Mom knew her Dad's infidelity.

The Critics have seen that Major Impact to Sophie Albert as Denise. They commended how she affected her co-actor and the control on every emotions shown. As for Chanel and Shaira, they also did very well but the critics seemed to find more emotions which wasn't seen on the short film.

The Boys

The Short film was about a son named Anton who is longing for love and care from her real mother (Ms. Nora Aunor) who abandoned him out of her frustrations on her husband. But as the day went that they had the opportunity to see each other, anger had burst from his emotions to the point that he doesn't need her real mother anymore even though his mother missed him so much.

All the Critics agreed and loved Vin Abrenica's teardrops falling on the last part of the film. Akihiro Blanco was still commended for his naturalistic way of acting but lacks with the emotions seen in the film. Mark Neumann was also commended on his effort in memorizing tagalog lines as management for the language barrier, but the critics still seen it as a barrier to the film.

Text Votes ranking was also revealed last Saturday and this was the current ranking of the students as of last Saturday's final exam:

1st Vin Abrenica

2nd Chanel Morales

3rd Mark Neumann

4th Sophie Albert

5th Akihiro Blanco

Congratulations KZ Tandingan!

X Factor Philippines named it's Winner for their 1st season. KZ Tandingan from Team Charice, wins the X Factor Philippines Season 1 and brought home a total of 4 million worth of Cash and Prizes. Meanwhile Gabriel Maturan from team Martin finished 2nd place and Daddy's Home from Team Gary V in 3rd Place.

During the Performance Night, Gab and Daddy's Home sang inspirational songs which is for me is a common strategy for every competitor on a talent search to sing inspirational songs on grand finals, but it was great, they sang it beautifully, but KZ Tandingan sang a different genre. That only proves KZ's reason for joining the contest, that music industry is not just for Belter performers and for good looking singers. Congratulations KZ Tandingan! A well deserved Victory! and Congratulations to her Mentor Charice! :)

(Protege) The battle for the big artista break has ended for Japs de Luna has ended.

Another Big break has ended last Sunday during their live gala night. Each protege was paired to season 1 mentors of the same show; Mikoy and Jaya, Elle and Imelda Papin, Thea and Vernie Varga, Jeric and Jay-r, Ruru and Aiza Seguerra, Zandra and Claire Dela Fuente, and Japs with Joey G of Side A. Unfortunately, the battle has ended for Japs de Luna, protege of Mentor Roderick Paulate from team North and Central Luzon, thus, Final 6 were determined. After De Luna's elimination, Team North and Central Luzon will no longer have its representative for the final battle.

Artista Academy: Team SHARK (Shaira and Mark) made the best impression during their live exams last week.

Last Saturday's theme was KILIG, and remaining students were grouped into 3 Love teams namely SOVIN for Sophie and Vin, AKINEL for Akihiro and Chanel, and SHARK for Shaira and Mark. Their task is to make their performance with the "kilig-factor" to impress the critics and the fans.

Surprisingly, the 2 students (Team SHARK), Shaira and Mark impressed the critics very well with their story as best friend turned into lovers and with their song and dance number, and that gave them the highest score on the said live exam. Next live exam's theme will be "OUTSHINE".

Living a Life is a learning process

Life is a precious gift from God. Everybody has this greatest opportunity to live here on earth and enjoy the gift that God gave us. As the days go by, we started to learn everything, even those times that we are still in our mother's womb and about to see the beauty of the world, learning begins, and it gives us a lot of lessons that will help us grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Living a life everyday is a learning process, yes it's a learning process; we learn from what we do, we learn from what we see, hear, feel, touch and even from what we taste, and from learning, we find happiness, satisfaction and even success. For us to gain that success, we have to face different challenges, tasks and even problems. Some people easily succeed, some people worked hard for it and some people fail. It all depends on how we deal on it or on how we are managing it. Some people were born fast learners that is why they easily succeed, but there comes a point in their lives that they also encounter difficult to manage problems, tasks and challenges. Some people are always having difficulties dealing with the problems in life. Well that's how life goes on, for us to succeed on what we desire, we have to work hard for it, learn from our mistakes, stand up and move forward.

I am an achiever, since I was a kid, I have this "what I want is what I get" attitude, and since I am an achiever, I always worked hard for me to get what I want in school, at home and many others. By that time, failure is a big NO-No to me, and I don't want someone to overcome what I have achieved. I always got insecure to some people who got higher scores than me. Realization comes into my mind. People who got higher scores than me had worked hard to get that score and get the ranks they deserved to receive. Everyone exerts a lot of effort to satisfy and get what they desired. Every effort has an equivalent prize depending on the gravity of what we exert for the success that we are wanting. I also experienced some failures in life that helped me to become better person. I stood up as I experience defeat, move forward and tried again until I get what I am wanting. Through learning, I was able to develop my talents and become more mature person.

Failure is a part of everyone's life. It makes us feel sorrow, we are hurt, we feel so ashamed of ourselves and we are afraid of what those people are going to think about us. Well that's life, everyone experiences that. It balances life because we are not as always a winner; we fail and we learned from our mistakes. Do not lose faith and hope. Everybody has another chance; and when that chance came, we should grab that opportunity and work hard for it. In life, it's not always about winning, it is about how we enjoy it, how do we learn from it and how do we deal on every trials, failures and problems. Success, satisfaction, realizations and happiness follows as we learn from those things, and it will surely help us in becoming a more mature and a more better person we deserved to be. God Bless us all! :)

Allen Sta. Maria was eliminated via majority decision from the X Factor Judges; Mark Neumann and Shaira Mae completes the 5th and 6th slots of Artista Academy's Honor list; Bryan Benedict' battle for the big break ends last night on Protege

X Factor Philippines (ABS-CBN)

It was an emotional night for team Charice as her both finalist gathered the least number of votes, thus became part of the bottom two. Through majority votes, X Factor Philippines' Swag Princess Allen Sta. Maria was sent home, and made KZ Tandingan the 3rd Grand Finalist of the much awaited Grand Finals of The X Factor Philippines on October 6 & 7, 2012 together with Gab Maturan and Daddy's Home.

Artista Academy (TV5)

After the face-off last Saturday between the danger 4 and the Tropang Kick-out, the two remaining slots were finally occupied by Mark Neumann, and Shaira Mae. Both student chose to dance as their performance piece and both got positive feedback from the critics. The rest of the students (danger 4 and tko) were also given a chance to choose which one will they perform, some of them sang, and others danced as well, but all of them performed their acting piece for a limited time and limited dialogue and divided into 3 emotions, sorrow/sadness, fear and anger. Even though some students also got positive feedback from the critics, the above 2 students were declared part of the AA's Honor list as the results of combined text votes, live exam grades and academy grades were determined.

Protege (The Battle for the Big Artista Break) (GMA7)

Protege switch, that was the theme for last night's gala. After the results of the combined text votes and judges' scores, Bryan Benedict's battle ended, even though he got positive feedback from the judges regarding his performance. No more mentoring for Mentor Ricky Davao as his present proteges has already been cast out from the competition although his original protege Japs De Luna is still part of the competition but he was already being mentored by Roderick Paulate. Bryan Benedict was the 2nd protege to be eliminated from the Original team Visayas.
