It's been a while since my last blog entry here.. It's so nice to be back after few months.. Before proceeding to the topic I'll be posting here, I would like to ask how's everyone? doing great? anyway to continue, January 9, 2012, I was able to be part of Golden Acres family as one of the volunteer nurses of the medical team. Thanks to Ate Hershey Ramos for introducing to me everything about golden acres.
A brief knowledge about this institution. Golden Acres is a well-known Home for the aged ran by the government under DSWD. I was happy to be a part of the family rendering my volunteer service for the elderly. It was also my 1st exposure as a volunteer nurse after passing the board exam.
During my stay there for about four months, I have learned so many things such as be friends not only with the staff but also to everybody, another was to learn how to deal with different moods of the elderly and many others.
With the Medical Team headed by Doc Chat Malibiran, with staff nurses Ms. Camil Ramos and Mr. Sonny Zano who seemed to be our sister and brother, another staff nurses (not in this picture) were Ms. Janet Gomez and Ma'am Norma Tayaba (our evaluator), and by that time, the growing number of volunteer nurses, May Ann Arpon, Richelle Bose and Sed Espina. Other volunteer nurses soon arrived (not in this picture) Van Magbanlag, Zeus Obmerga, Vlad Nonan, Badeth Magpayo, Gee-ann Cornel, Rowel Alcayde, Jasper Yap and Sherrmaine Uy plus the Food for work nurses Dane Malicsi and Jaucel Balanga.

Through Golden Acres, I was able to have a picture with a celebrity as she visited the center and do some charity works with the eldery of Sta. Lucia and St. Anne Cottages, and yes it Bea Alonzo :)
My apology for not posting some of my pictures together with the elderly as I can't find any tagged pictures of me from a friend on facebook and another reason is that, posting the picture of the elderly without any consent from the right authority is against the right of the client or elderly.
Friendship grew with us the volunteers that is why Fantastic Five and Friends was formed with the 5 of us, May, Sed, Van, Zeus and I. On my next blog entry I'll be sharing some of our greatest memory inside and outside Golden Acres. Thanks for reading folks. Good Day everybody and God bless us all! :)
